Investing in ideas

We are operators. We are investors.
We have years of experience making mistakes and learning from them. With every mistake comes learning, challenges, and insight. We are a group of operators that have worked at extraordinary companies and we hope to share that insight with our partners and portfolio companies.

About Jackie Reses

Jackie Reses ran Square Capital, part of Square Inc. which is one of the largest small business lenders in the United States. Square Capital uses innovative machine learning models to inform underwriting decisions and manage risk for small businesses which have previously been excluded from traditional sources of capital. Square Capital’s typical loan size is approximately $7,000 and 58% of loans were provided to women and 35% were provided to under-represented minorities. Reses transformed the ability for the smallest businesses in the US to access credit. She also was the Executive Chairman of Square Financial Services, a recently approved FDIC insured bank owned by Square and the first bank in the US started by a technology company.

Prior to Square, Jackie was the Chief Development Officer for Yahoo and the head of the US media group at Apax Partners, one of the largest global private equity firms. Jackie also spent seven years at Goldman Sachs in mergers and acquisitions and the principal investment area.

Jackie is Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and the Board of Directors of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and National Public Radio (NPR). Jackie is also currently serving on California Governor Newsom’s Task Force for Business and Jobs Recovery, and was recently named one of American Bankers Magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Finance.

Jackie received a bachelor’s degree in economics with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania after growing up in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  She has earned multiple patents for inventions in financial technology, payments and cryptocurrency.
